Someone familiar with our Facebook community was listening to the scanner and noted that Police were attempting to gain access to our river park and contacted Charity. The Facebook admin also pm'd Charity concerning gate access. About 6 or 8 Police and Sheriff cars were noted at Country Joe's around 6PM. The post to the Nisqually Pines Community on Facebook was an hour or so later, 7PM, which indicated that the River Park Gate was locked. The community has no emergency contact information for our board members who are in charge of the River Park Gate. The office indicated, however, that the gate is open until 8PM. All of this occurred prior to 8PM. The office also indicated that Police, Fire and Search and Rescue ALREADY HAVE contact information for River Park Gate access.
The community should create further public awareness.
Was the River Park Gate OPEN or CLOSED? Facebook posts and scanner listeners indicate that the gate was locked prior to 8PM.
